What is Anemia? Prevalence of Anemia in Pakistan

In 1990 prevalence of anemia in Pakistan among women in reproductive age (age of 15 - 49) was 53.60 whereas it was 48.80 in 2001 and it was 52.10 in 2016. Among children Prevalence of anemia in Pakistan was 70.80 in 1990 and 58.80 in 2016 and the lowest value was in 2006 which was 56.30. An estimated figure of affected people of anemia is around 1620 million. According to National Nutrition Survey 2011 51% pregnant women 50.5% chlid bearing aged women and 62.1% childrens are affected by anemia.

How to treat different type of bleeding

During my childhood I had an accident and tought me a lot. I was very fond of martial and was inspired from martial artists. I was alone at home and started practice of martial movie by following a movie scenes. An aggressive sweeping roundhouse kick ended up with ended up with an accident and I just shattered glass of water with my foot. I was shocked the moment I saw significant amount of blood coming through my vein. I tried all possible solution and put tissue after tissue to stop blood but no luck. Carpet was stained with my blood. My goodness, my mom entered the home after sometime and the moment she saw a significat amount of blood flowing off of my foot. She picked a large towel and put direct pressure on my wound which was still bleeding and this worked and after sometime bleeding was stopped and she rushed to the doctor for medical assistance. Thankfully, everything turned out to be okay then.

Blood donation is a very save and healthy process. Every healthy person should make donations and should make this habitual as it is very beneficial for both, the donor and recipient. Blood donation helps to burn up to calories 650 by donating one pint of blood. Blood donation also decrease different type of cancers. The major hurdle towards blood donation are that we are surrounded by lot of myths and peoples are scary to to donate blood. The truth is these my myths are totally wrong and we should break these myths by taking fist step towards donation and motivate our family members and friends. Few very common myths are listed below. Myth: A very common myth is that NEEDLE HURTS The Fact: The truth is it hurts no more then needle pierce. And a little soreness which keeps you remind for some time that you have done some good deeds. The pain of the prick of 16-18 G needle is almost same as that of 22 G small needle.

Blood donors and donation in Pakistan

Blood is a key of life. Unfortunately blood donation in Pakistan is very uncommon only 10 percent of pakistani people are blood donor in Pakistan who dare to donate blood. There are several reasons and myths behind this e.g people are scary to donate blood, people think that blood can be manufactured, people thinks they will feel weeker, perhaps blood donation is time consuming. But the facts are totally oposite there is no need to worry about, blood can't be manufactured on scalable level, blood donation is a health process, blood donation burns calories, blood donor receives free medical check up, blood donation reduces the risk of cancer and many more. Blood is a liquid life which circulates the required protien and oxygen to human body. Every person should have a specific amount of blood in his/her body. Amount of blood varies in mans, womens and childrens body. It is possible that an overweight or healthier peson could have less amount of blood then a normal person. A person could have up to 4.5 to 5.5 litre blood if the person is having 68 to 80 kg of weight. There is another neccessary thing to be considered for better health which HB (Hemoglobine). HB should also be in normal range for better health and normal range in mans is 13.5 to 17.5 and 12.5 to 15.5 grams per deciliter in womans.

Benefits of Blood Donation

It is necassary to do some health screening of blood donor before blood donation. A donor will receive mini blood test, blood pressure, sugur test and free prior health screening. Also HB (Hemoglobin) level test which is protein in donor's red blood cells. I HB level is lower then normal (normal HB level is 13.5 to 17.5) which mean person have low blood cells in other words it is anemia. Transfusion is a healty process because when blood donor donates his marrow starts producing new cells with 48 hours of blood donation. And within 1 to 2 months donor's withdrawn blood completely replaced with news blood cells which helps donor's body to be healthy. So transfusion of blood helps to improves blood donor's cardiovascular health.
